Jane's Design Process
Step 1:
Initial Consultation
Jane visits her client’s home to assess the property and determine her client’s overall design goals.
She will then create a detailed project brief, including a wish list of items and features, desired aesthetics and styles, and layout options for each space depending on her client’s requirements.
Jane’s design brief will include an overview of the scope of work, including a preliminary timeline and budget.
Step 2:
Planning
Jane develops a design concept for her client and once this concept has been discussed and agreed upon, she will often prepare a detailed design quotation. Jane’s detailed quotation includes researching, presenting, refining and determining finishes, fixtures and furniture.
Upon request, Jane can also generate detailed 3D plans including ceiling plans, furniture layout, elevations and more as well as detailed floorplans showcasing key ideas and any special design requests from her client.
Jane’s design plan will address budget, timeline and a construction schedule (if applicable) in detail.
Step 3:
Renovating & Construction
If any renovation or construction is part of your design, Jane will carry out regular scheduled site visits and manage the project with her tradespeople on site.
She will manage the installation process and the purchase and delivery of materials, and regularly consult with her client.
Jane will also develop a detailed Furniture, Fixture and Equipment (FF&E) schedule for the design project (if required).
This stage concludes with a post-renovation or construction follow up with the client.
Step 4:
Decoration & Furnishing
Once any renovation or construction is complete, Jane will supply, according to her client’s accepted quote, any furniture, lighting, soft furnishings, window treatments, floor coverings, carpets, rugs and accessories.
Jane can custom design furniture and soft furnishings for each project to suit the style and design goals of her client.
Jane will then carry out the installation, placement and styling of all items in the accepted quote.
